Two people are dead and two more are in critical condition after a crash on Highway 63 yesterday morning.

Boyle RCMP say it happened when a car turned left onto the highway from Township Road 720 about 1 kilometre north of Wandering River.

It was hit by another car that was driving north on 63.

A 52 year old woman driving one of the cars was killed, while her 8 year old passenger was airlifted to hospital.

The 26 year old man driving the other car was airlifted to hospital, while his 28 year old passenger died.

The Alberta NDP was quick to attack the government for not doing enough for highway safety on the road.

But police say it was driver error that caused the crash.
