Oilsands emitting more GHGs

A new report says the intensity of carbon emissions from the oilsands is on the rise.

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers says that the amount of GHGs produced for every barrel of oil went up 2 percent between 2009 and 2010.

That comes after greenhouse gas intensity dropped 29 percent between 1990 and 2009.

Overall, emissions were up 14 percent because of several new projects coming onstream.
