There is a chance US President Barack Obama may be forced to kill the proposed Keystone XL oilsands pipeline if his administration is forced to make a decision on the project within 60 days.
Senior economic advisor to the president Gene Sperling told CNN that legislation requiring a final ruling so soon could cause problems, because two months isn’t enough time to complete a new environmental review.
TransCanada’s proposed $7-billion pipeline would take oilsands crude to Texas refineries, to the tune of 830,000 barrels per day.
