Police say there were “signs that members found indicating that it was suicide” in an 11th floor apartment building in downtown Fort McMurray.
Wood Buffalo RCMP was called to the MacDonald Drive apartment at about 6 p.m. last night. Reports said a woman fell from an 11th floor balcony, and was pronounced dead by the time police arrived.
Constable Kandace Perry says investigators determined the death wasn’t suspicious or accidental, and the woman was suicidal. She says investigators found evidence at the scene that led them to that conclusion.
Family was notified about the death. Police are not releasing the woman’s name.
