"Christmas for Fort McMurray" has ended

Last Updated Nov 3, 2016 at 5:45 pm MDT

Due to overwhelming response, “Christmas for Fort McMurray” has now ended.

On the first day of this initiative, November 2nd, almost 400 families in need were able to collect donated Christmas decor to ensure they would be able to celebrate this year.

All donated items have been distributed and the centre at Shell Place has closed.

This initiative, developed by Helga and Terry Lempriere of High River, brought donated Christmas décor from across the province to Fort McMurray to help those families and individuals most in need this year.

The end of the program also means the cancellation of Here for You programming that was meant to coincide with the initiative.

You can still connect with the Here for You team to ask questions or provide feedback 24/7 by emailing recovery@rmwb.ca or by calling the PULSE Line at 780-743-7000.
