Man arrested for pointing a firearm

A 21-year old man is in custody after pointing a fire arm and being in possession of two stolen vehicles.

Wood Buffalo RCMP were called to a Gregoire Residence on November 29th, after they received reports of a man pointing a firearm because he was refused entry to the home.

The man fled in a vehicle, which police later located abandoned in an area of Gregoire, the vehicle was found to have been stolen on November 20th.

Police we able to identify the suspect as Lyndon Rankin, RCMP officers located him on December 3rd in possession of a vehicle that had been stolen on November 14th from Gregoire Lake Reserve.

Rankin is facing several charges:

  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over 5000 (x2)
  • Uttering threats against a person
  • Mischief under $5000.00
  • Fail to comply with a probation order
  • Fail to comply with a recognizance (x3)

 

He will appear in court on December 5th.
