The (8-14-3) Fort McMurray Peewee AA Barons failed to gain any ground in the Black division after dropping three games over the weekend.

Before play this past weekend, the Barons found themselves just two points behind the Grande Prairie Minhas Bros Trucking Knights but have now fallen six points behind.

In a rare Friday evening contest, the Barons found themselves in Fort St John to take on the Flyers. Despite playing the Flyers (13-12-1) close in both games, the Barons fell 4-3 in game one and 3-1 in game two.

For their third and final game of the weekend, the Barons headed down the road to take on the Canucks in Dawson Creek. Despite scoring four goals, the Barons defense fell apart at times in giving up seven goals.

The Barons will now play four of their remaining six games at the Frank Larcoix Arena.

In one of their most important weekend sets of the year, the Fort McMurray Bantam AA Barons came out with three of a possible four points.

On Saturday, the Barons (20-7-1) hit the ice to take on the (14-10-2) SSAC Alberta Sportswear. The Sportswear saw their 3-1 lead after one period evaporate slowly which included the game-tying goal by Barons Dylan Remillard.

In game two, the Barons took on the (17-8-3) PAC Timberwolves. This time the Barons jumped out of the gate and lead 2-0 after one period. From there, the Barons never relinquished their lead en route to a 5-3 win.

With their three points, the Barons remain six points up on GPAC Coyote North Ltd Storm for first spot in the Black division.
