On March 3 and 4, the YMM Home Show and Job Fair will be going on in the Nexen Field House at MacDonald Island and homeowners and job seekers are encouraged to attend.

The Home Show and Job Fair takes place from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. on March 3 and 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on March 4.

“We are so excited to be bringing together builders and contractors alongside companies that are hiring in our community,” said Amanda Haitas, Manager, Wood Buffalo Economic Development. “This presents a unique opportunity because many of the builders and contractors are also looking for skilled local employees. They’re able to take part in the YMM Home Show and connect with homeowners while also accepting resumes for their current vacant positions. This event will help bolster the rebuild and recovery of our community.”

Services will be available by more than 100 vendors registered for homeowners who are rebuilding or repairing their home after last May’s wildfire.

Residents who are looking to obtain employment are also encouraged to attend the event as over 80 businesses are seeking skilled employees from our community, which will also feature on the spot interviews. Residents are asked to bring their resumes to the Job Fair.

Presentations on a variety of topics related to home renovations, recovery, and landscaping will be offered throughout the YMM Home Show. The schedule of presentations is as follows:
