If you’re looking to sharpen up your golf skills, you can head to the Fort McMurray Golf Club as the club officially opened up their driving range on April 6 at 9:00 a.m.

The range is open daily from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with cold beverages also available. Both members and the public are welcome.

While the golf course is not yet open, Head Professional Jason Vaughan is optimistic that it will be opening soon.

“We don’t have a set date yet, we’re assessing it every day,” said Vaughan. “We are ahead of schedule, however if the weather stays good it will be sooner rather than later.”

The Fort McMurray Golf Club offers five and seven-day membership passes that start as low as just $1590.00 for a seven-day senior pass. The most popular membership is the Monday to Friday pass for just $1725.00 taxes included.

“We have lots of exciting things going on here we opened an additional nine holes so we now have 27 holes,” said Vaughan.  “There is lots of availability, and it doesn’t matter the skill level we have lessons, events and a lot more, we want to welcome everyone.”

After their clubhouse burned down, the Golf Club is excited to begin construction on the new one within the next couple of weeks. For now, a trailer unit is being used for all your food and beverage needs.

“It’ll be just about a year process for it to get up and running so were expecting it to be ready for the 2018 golf season,” said Vaughan.
