Residents are reminded that the Winter Maintenance Zones (WMZ) season ended at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 14, along with the related on-street parking restrictions.

Due to warm weather WMZs have been relaxed since Feb. 23.
Crews will continue to maintain streets as required should weather conditions change, but on-street parking restrictions for WMZs will not be reactivated this season.
Street Sweeping
Crews have begun street sweeping along Franklin Ave, in heavily soiled areas and along primary and secondary routes throughout Fort McMurray.
Once main arteries have been swept, crews will begin street sweeping in residential neighbourhoods.
Motorists are advised to watch for No-Parking signage.
No-Parking signs will be posted in affected areas a minimum of 48 hours prior to the start of sweeping.
Before placing No-Parking signs, electronic message boards will be posted at the entrance of neighbourhoods approximately seven days before sweeping begins.
Residents are advised to watch electronic message boards for updates.
These are general time frames and can change due to weather conditions or operational ability.
As per the Roads and Transportation Bylaw No. 02/079, vehicles parked in active No-Parking areas could be ticketed and towed to the impound yard located on Silin Forest Road next to the Water Treatment Plant.
Contractors or builders working on homes damaged or destroyed in the 2016 wildfire are responsible for keeping streets clear of mud and debris in their work area.
In addition, a contractor has been hired to remove additional dirt and mud created by rebuild-related activities on an as-needed basis.

As street sweeping is expected to affect each area for only a brief period, cooperation from residents will assist crews to perform their work quickly and minimize any inconvenience.
Please follow or pass sweeping equipment from a safe distance as dust may reduce visibility. Please also watch for signage on the rear of equipment.

Potholes
Crews have also been filling potholes along municipal roadways.

Residents are reminded that the Municipality does not maintain provincial Highways 63 and 881.
