Rooftop camp out brings in $46-thousand

The sixth annual Fort McMurray Fire Department (FMFD) rooftop camp out was a success, raising over $46-thousand.

Five firefighters climbed down on April 22, after spending 100-hours sleeping, eating and braving the elements to raise money for five local charities.

The event was cancelled last year due to the wildfire. This is one of most prestigious fundraising event put on by the Friends of the Fort McMurray Firefighters Charities Association.

All of the money raised will go to:

  • Fort McMurray Boys and Girls Club
  • Wood Buffalo Food Bank
  • Fort McMurray SPCA
  • Centre of Hope
  • Waypoints (Fort McMurray Family Crisis Society)
