Two-thousand tulip bulbs were planted at Snye Point Park last year and Wood Buffalo Communities in Bloom is preparing to unveil the new garden for Canada’s 150th Anniversary.

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) was one of 150 communities selected across Canada to receive tulip bulbs from the Canadian Garden Council.

“Planting the tulips last fall was extremely rewarding,” said Julie Moretto, co-chair, Wood Buffalo Communities in Bloom Committee. “We’ve been eagerly waiting for spring so we can see the tulips as they start to bloom. We’re also looking forward to planting the Tree of Hope that was generously donated by Leduc Communities in Bloom. We hope to see lots of residents at Snye Point Park this Saturday.”

The new garden will be revealed will be planted on Saturday May 27, 2017 from 10 a.m. –1 p.m. The day will consist of other activities including crafts and snacks with Rave the Communities in Bloom Raven.

Our community’s garden and others across the country will be linked to a flagship 150th Garden Promenade of 25-thousand tulips in Niagara Falls and will be featured on Canada’s Garden Route.
