Babar showcased a mobile application (app) called “Street Smart” that detects bumps or potholes and tracks their location for the municipality. Also in the app was a feature that allows residents to share feedback with the municipality through twitter.

“What an incredible event! Working with these brilliant and ambitious young people is such a rewarding experience. We have been so fortunate in our region to have the support of families, teachers, school boards, as well as community and industry sponsorship that allows us the opportunity to share our students’ success on the national stage,” said Vicki Dawe, a science teacher at Westwood High School, she accompanied the team to the fair.

Superintendent of FMPSD Doug Nicholls noted that these projects have long-term local and global benefits to make our community and world a better place.
