Household hazardous and electronic waste roundup on June 3

Residents are encouraged to take part in the Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste Roundup on June 3 to safely get rid of of any household hazardous material or electronic waste that requires special disposal.

This free service provides an opportunity for residents to conveniently dispose of their waste in an environmentally responsible manner.

Municipal staff and volunteers will be on hand at the Evergreen Community Christian Reformed Church parking lot (101 Tundra Dr.) from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. to collect the materials.

Household hazardous waste contains chemicals that could be harmful to the environment if they aren’t disposed of properly.

This includes the following products:

  • cleaning products
  • paints
  • adhesives
  • solvents
  • gardening chemicals
  • automotive fluids
  • old electronics and batteries

 

Electronic waste (E-waste) contains heavy metals that are harmful to the environment.

This includes:

  • televisions
  • monitors
  • computers
  • cameras
  • printers
  • microwaves

Residents are also able to take household quantities of hazardous materials and electronic waste to the landfill year round, free of charge.
