Man tased at Athabasca Lodge

A 37-year-old man has been charged with assaulting a police officer and several other offences.

On June 15, 2017 the Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to complaints at the Athabasca Lodge that a male was intoxicated and refused to leave the facility when requested.

Scott Thomas Lake was arrested upon arrival, but managed to avoid being handcuffed.

Lake threatened the RCMP member, following the officer then used his taser to take custody of Lake.

He suffered non-life threating injuries and was treated at the hospital, before being released back to police.

Lake has been charged with the following:

  • Assault of a police officer
  • Obstruction of a police officer
  • Uttering Threats
  • Mischief under $5000.00

Lake was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, June 21.
