Hub Family Resource Centre offers Summer Park programming

Children between the ages of three and eight will get the chance to take part in Summer Park programming that will be put on by the Hub Resource Centre with support from the Fort McMurray United Way.

The Summer Park programming is free of charge and offers kids and their guardians the chance to take part in free crafts, games and other activities in several different neighbourhoods in our community.

“Summer Park Programs are an extension of the Hub’s in-centre work and aims to bring neighbourhood children together through play this summer.” said Chantal Beaver, Executive Director of the Hub Family Resource Centre.

The Summer Park programming is set to begin on Tuesday, July 4 and will be held Monday-Friday every week in July and August and the schedule of each day is as followed:

  • Monday’s- Syncrude Athletic Park- 10:00-12:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday’s- Borealis Park (Downtown)- 1:00-3:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday’s- Syncrude Athletic Park- 11:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday’s- Frank Lacroix Arena- 1:30-3:30 p.m.
  • Friday’s- Wood Buffalo Waterpark- 1:00-3:00 p.m.

There is no need to register for the programs, you can just drop in with your child and get ready for fun. All of the programs are Guardian/Child.

“We focus on the importance of play and bringing neighbourhoods and communities together, to really ensure we have a real sense of community this summer.” said Beaver.
