The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), Oil Sands Chapter raised a record-breaking amount of money for the Northern Lights Health Foundation (NLHF).

Last Saturday, 148 golfers hit the links in CIM’s annual golf tournament at the Fort McMurray Golf club (FMGC) raising $22,800.

The CIM Oil Sands Chapter credits their dedicated members for being able to match the first $10 thousand raised through the tournament.

“Organizations, such as the CIM, are crucial to ensuring we can continue to fund health care innovation in our community for all residents to enjoy”, said Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director of the Northern Lights Health Foundation. “On behalf of Health Foundation Board and Staff, I’d like to thank everyone who made this gift possible.”

The money will go towards urgently needed equipment at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre (NLRHC) and health care services and programs.
