Additional transit service for Canada Day

Transit riders can expect a few changes to routes and schedules on Friday.

Transit Services is committed to making improvements and will be providing quarterly updates in March, June, September and December.

Updates:

Starting June 30 Abasand Route 7 and Beacon Hill Route 8 will be reinstated, it will replace the existing Route 4 that has been servicing both neighbourhoods.

Route 11 (Airport/ TaigaNova) will see changes in service frequency throughout the afternoon and evenings.

The Hardin Street stop has been removed from Route 99 (MacDonald Island).

Route 51 (Wood Buffalo) has reduced its Sunday service, the last run will depart at 6 p.m.

Rural service:

As part of a three-month trial the municipality has added additional routes to service the rural communities.

Buses run from Anzac on Tuesdays and Fridays, from Janvier on Tuesdays and from Conklin on Fridays.

Transit service also runs between Moose Island (Fort Chipewyan) and Fort Smith every Saturday.

You do need to register for Saturday service to Fort Smith by calling 780-679-3600 prior to 4:30 p.m. the Friday before the service.

Service from Moose Island to Fort Smith is suspended for the July 1 holiday, it will resume the following Saturday.

Canada Day:

To accommodate Canada Day festivities on July 1 certain routes will offer extended or additional service.

Routes 11, 15 and 16 will offer extended service.

Route 99 (MacDonald Island) will run every 15 minutes from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. on July 2.
