Artists invited to brighten up downtown Fort McMurray

PHOTO PROVIDED: igNIGHT is coming back, are you ready to brighten up downtown Fort McMurray?

Local artists are invited to an information session for igNight on Thursday, July 6 at McMurray Experience beginning at 6:30 p.m.

IgNIGHT gives artists the opportunity to light-up downtown Fort McMurray with light-based public art at Jubilee Plaza and McMurray Experience.

“This is a special year for igNIGHT – working with a Community Committee for opening night activities and introducing a theme that observes Canada’s 150th anniversary,” said Community Strategies Coordinator, Theresa Jolliffe. “We are seeking local artists to apply and use their innovative ways to light up Jubilee Plaza and McMurray Experience to celebrate Canada 150!”

If you already have an idea how you can bring brightness to downtown, you can register for igNIGHT by contacting Theresa Jolliffee at Theresa.Jolliffee@rmwb.ca, or by calling her at 780-743-7994.

IgNIGHT is set to brighten up downtown Fort McMurray from October 20 to 29, from sundown to midnight every day.

The deadline to apply is Thursday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m., and you can get more information on igNIGHT at Brighten downtown Fort McMurray.
