Oil Barons looking for game day volunteers

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are hoping you can lend a hand this upcoming season!

The team is looking for volunteers to help out on game days by taking tickets at the door, selling 50/50, off-ice officials and more.

President of the club, Dave Fitzgerald said that the volunteers are the backbone of the organization.

“They’re the people in the trenches, the people behind the scenes that do a lot and really add to the success of what we do each and every game,” said Fitzgerald. “We would like to be able to recruit as may volunteers as we can. The more people you have pulling on the rope, the easier it is to pull.”

You can head to the Casman Centre on Saturday, July 8 between 1:00-3:00 p.m. to learn more about volunteer opportunities and enjoy a sign-up BBQ.

If you’re hoping to support the organization in another way there are still tickets available for their Camaro Raffle.

Tickets will be on sale at the Wild West Country Music Festival on July 7th and 8th from 5-11 p.m.

The raffle also features an early bird prize of $10,000 that will be drawn on July 8th on the main stage at the music festival.

The draw for the Camaro will take place August 27th during the Oil Barons’ blue/gold game.

Tickets are $50 each or three for $100 and also available at the Casman Centre (in person or by phone) or at Summit GM Fort McMurray.
