Kids in the community can prepare for blast off!

The Layla Isaac Foundation is introducing new community programming for children and families, called Eureka!

Eureka! is a four-part series of multi-day events, designed with children ages one to 12 in mind.

The first Eureka! event is a space themed festival that will have multiple adventure zones with age specific adventures, attractions and activities.

“We wanted to do something special to celebrate the children in our community.” said Shruti Shah, a summer student and Eureka! pioneer. “Eureka! responds to the need for exceptional, affordable and continuous experiences for children in our region. We also want to deliver unique programming that strengthens Fort McMurray’s standing as an accessible destination for family and community events.”

The event will be at MacDonald Island Park on Aug. 12 and 13, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

General admission is $15 and free for children aged three and under.
