Finning Canada has donated $100,000 to Keyano College.

The money will go toward establishing the Finning Canada Endowment Fund, that will help students with tuition, rent and stability throughout college.

“We are an ongoing supporter of Keyano College, as they play an important role in providing increased access to practical, relevant and affordable learning opportunities in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. With the establishment of the Finning Canada Endowment Fund we are making a long-term investment in the future of a community we’ve been a proud member of for more than 50 years,” said Brent Davis, Finning VP oilsands and mining solutions.

The money will provide four interim annual awards of $2,000 for the next four years.

After that, four awards of $1,250 each will be provided annually to students enrolled at Keyano.

“We are extremely grateful to Finning Canada for this important contribution as well as for their ongoing support for Keyano College,” said Tracy Edwards, president and CEO, Keyano College. This endowment fund will be helping Keyano students for generations.”

Students will receive these awards based on financial need, academic achievement and area of study.
