Composite High School will be hosting a Pancake Dinner on Thursday, Oct 26 from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. to help raise funds to send students to WE Day.

WE Day is a celebratory seminar that highlights young people’s commitment to making the world a better place difference.  Students at Composite High School have been participating in WE Schools, a yearlong program that encourages students to create change in their local and global communities.

For their local act of kindness, the students have decided to help the Wood Buffalo Food Bank through a WE scare hunger initiative.  This Halloween, the students will be doing more than just trick or treating.  They will be collecting donations for the food bank.

“It’s a really tangible way for our students to give back,” said Jihan Jones, social studies teacher at Composite High School.

A total of 18 students from grades seven through 12 are participating and hoping to attend the celebration in Calgary at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Nov. 1.

To support the students you can attend the pancake dinner at Composite School and for a minimum $5 help the students help our community and world.
