Keyano Gala raises over $285,000 for the college

The Keyano Gala is the college’s major annual fundraising event.

The event raised over $285,000 surpassing their goal by $25,000.

The money will go towards supporting students, programming, athletics, theatre and infrastructure improvements at the college.

“On behalf of Keyano College, I would like to thank all our partners, donors, and friends for supporting us in hosting another fantastic Gala,” said Tracy Edwards, president and CEO of Keyano College. “We are very proud of the efforts we are making to be a valued member of the community, a place of academic high standards, and the college of choice for Northern Alberta. This support represents an important investment in the future of our college and in our community, and it is an important reminder of how generous our community is.”

Presented by Birch Mountain Enterprises Ltd. more than 1,100 guest attended the regions premier black-tie event and almost 100 community corporate sponsors participated with local business offering their services throughout the evening.

The theme of this year’s gala was Canadiana with legendary Canadian band, the Barenaked Ladies, headlining the event and Country 93.3 Brad Karp hosting.  Guests were able to take part in various raffles and actions that featured donated items such as aerial tours, artwork, guitars and signed sports memorabilia while supporting local education.
