Keyano College receives $400,000 donation

Keyano College has received a $400,000 donation from Scotiabank to sponsor business program initiatives and establish the Scotiabank Indigenous Education Bridging Support Program.

Tracy Edwards, president and CEO, Keyano College says they’re extremely grateful to Scotiabank.

“These funds will support students who want to pursue a business education in the Wood Buffalo region and support our indigenous learners with bridging programs. Donors like Scotiabank are the catalyst that allow us to help our students achieve their goals and subsequently the needs of their communities.”

The funds will support business programs, including sponsoring the annual Case Competitions, which position students for successful careers as well as provide eight annual scholarships of $2,500 each to reward students for academic achievements.

The creation of the Scotiabank Indigenous Education Bridging Support Program will provide Keyano College with an additional $25,000 annually for four years. Bursaries will provide indigenous learners in the region access to bridging programs that can lead to rewarding careers through various programs at Keyano.
