Northstar Ford, along with Country 93.3 and 97.9 ROCK hosted a live radio event for The United Way of Fort McMurray on Thursday, Nov. 23, that raised $115, 000.
The event raised their community campaign total to 72 percent.
The community campaign goal is $7.1 million, earlier this year The United Way announced a $1.5 million shortfall and expected to only bring in $5.6 million.
At the event, Northstar revealed their annual employee campaign raised $39,000, while owner, Marty Giles matched funds received for the day to a total of $12,500.
The RMWB announced their campaign raised $44,100 and Aluma Safway announced that they exceeded their goal in their first ever campaign raising $14,000.
In addition, onsite donations, pledges and the sale of Rogers Media breakfast sandwiches rounded out the event.
