CertainTeed is honouring five individuals in our community as ‘rebuild heroes’.

In October, the drywall company asked for stories about individuals working diligently in the construction industry to get their family, friends and neighbours back home.

Claude Bureau, Cody Burchell, Alfred Hoffman, David McLeod and Shawn Chaulk are all being recognized for their rebuild efforts.

“It is an honour to recognize the resilience and fortitude of Fort McMurray and their rebuild heroes, after the terrible impact of the wildfires of May 2016,” said Wayne Edgecombe, Vice President Sales, CertainTeed IPG Canada. “During our visit to Fort McMurray we were humbled and in awe listening to people’s stories and the strength of the community. It has been an incredible experience to support the community spirit.”

CertainTeed has presented each winner with a cheque and will also make a $2,000 donation to a local charity on their behalf.
