Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating two separate hit and run collisions that occurred over the holiday season in Fort McMurray.

One fail to stop hit and run collision occurred between Dec. 26 and Dec. 27 on Prospect Drive near Shalestone Way.

A white pick-up truck was parked on Prospect Drive and was rear ended by an unknown vehicle. Upon impact, the rear of the parked pick-up truck was pushed up onto the shoulder, and into a vehicle parked in front of it.

The parked pick-up truck has sustained significant damage on the driver’s side.

The suspect vehicle likely has traces of white paint, and damage to the front passenger side.

The second hit and run happened on Dec. 27 between 8 and 9 p.m. on Bird Crescent near Norbasca Bay.

A black pick-up truck was parked on Bird Crescent and was struck by an unknown vehicle. The occupants of the residence heard a bang around 8:30 p.m., however, the suspect vehicle fled after impact. The suspect vehicle likely has traces of black paint on the damaged area.

There were no injuries reported in these fail to stop hit and run collisions.

The two cases are unrelated, however, police are asking all company owners/managers to check their fleet vehicles for related damage, and to contact RCMP if they believe they may have the vehicle involved in these collisions.

If nearby residents have exterior surveillance cameras, or dash cams that may have recorded these collisions, they are requested to contact the RCMP as well.

If you have any information about these incidents, please contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP at (780) 788-4040.  The individuals who struck these vehicles may also turn themselves in, and provide a statement on the related collision(s).
