Environment Canada has placed the RMWB under an extreme cold warning.

According to their website, an Arctic air mass over Alberta is responsible for the colder than normal temperatures.

With the windchill values the temperature will be -40 or less.

The extreme cold is expected to last into the weekend.

If you’re headed outside make sure to bundle up, frost bite can develop within minutes on exposed skin.

You’re also reminded to watch for cold related symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
