Status of Women Canada is accepting concepts for projects addressing gaps in supports for survivors of gender-based violence in Canada.

The program is aimed at helping smaller organizations that may not currently have the ability to develop services for survivors in Indigenous, LGBTQ and immigrant populations, as well as seniors, people living with disabilities and minority language communities

The development of a concept is the first stage in the application project. Those that meet criteria could be provided with up to $30,000 to help develop and submit a full proposal.

Once all full proposals are assessed, approved projects will be eligible to receive up to $1 million in project funding.

The agency says the two-step process cuts down on the amount of paperwork required and gives smaller organizations a greater chance at success.
