Two Westwood students have signed letters of intent to play for the Keyano Huskies men’s volleyball team for the 2018/19 season.

Both boys expressed their excitement to enter the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC).

Ian Bruce is a middle and at 6’3″ considered undersized.

“He will start off in the middle with us. He is only 6’3″ but an athletic 6’3″ kid that jumps well and is really fast,” said Huskies Head Coach, Keegan Kuhr.

Simon Tremblay is a setter who has already been to a few huskies practices.

“Simon has really good hands for a young setter. I like his demeanour and hands. He needs a little bit of work on speed and setting the tempo,” added Kuhr.

The Huskies (13-2) are currently ranked fifth in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

The volleyball teams will travel to Lloydminster on Jan. 19 and 20 to take on the Lakeland College Rustlers.
