The load limit on the Fort Chipewyan Winter Road is up to 45,000 kg as of Jan. 31.
Mulching crews are expected to finish from km 0 to km 11 from the North Gate in Fort Chipewyan later in the day.
Watch for workers when travelling the winter road as they continue to perform maintenance.
High clearance 4×4 vehicles are recommended. Watch for rough sections, reduce speed and drive to conditions.
There are no regular services like road patrol, gas stations or cell phone coverage, so always be prepared for emergencies.
