Luna Glamping Northern Lights Resort has found itself in hot water after a commissioned agent allegedly took money from customers privately.

Mike Anderson of Luna Glamping said the agent, who is known as C. Bourget, is one of hundreds who are set up with referral codes to use on social media.

“Nobody has ever gone so far as to take money privately, all they do is they send out their referral code. If people see it online and they book through it, then they get a commission,”

Anderson said they’ve opened a police report with Wood Buffalo RCMP and the team is working to figure out how to issue refunds.

He said it’s a difficult situation to navigate since the sales weren’t done through the company. They’re working with their council to decide if cash refunds will be made or credit to the resort.

If you sent email money transfers to cbourget@lunaglamping.com, you’re asked to contact the company directly either through their Facebook page or info@lunaglamping.com.

MyMcMurray reached out to the accused for comment to find the phone number out of service.

The glamorous, off-grid camping company located in Crow Lake, was set to open Feb. 1, but is currently working to get approval for gas heating. It’s now expected to open in time for Canada Day.

Anderson said refunds have been issued accordingly to those who bought tickets for the original opening day.
