RRC announces hours for winter games

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) has announced changes of facility hours during the Alberta Winter Games.

Parking at MacDonald Island Park will be available as normal, but will be very busy.

The Suncor Community Leisure Centre and Shell Place are open as regular with the following exceptions: 

  • Nexen Activity Fieldhouse closed at 6 p.m. Feb. 15 until Feb. 20 at 10 a.m.
  • Nexen Fieldhouse closed Feb. 15 until Feb. 21 at 11 a.m.
  • Indoor Turf Field House closed Feb. 15 until Feb. 20
  • CNRL Arenas 1 and 2, Terry Conroy Mini Ice, the Curling Rink and the Leisure Pond are closed Feb. 16 until Feb. 19
  • Don Scott McMurray Law Office Badminton Centre closed Feb. 16 until Feb. 19

 

The Syncrude Aquatic Centre is open as follows:

  • Feb. 17 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. (Leisure side closes at 9 p.m.)
  • Feb. 18 from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. (Leisure side closes at 8 p.m.)
  • Feb. 19 from 1 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. (Leisure side closes at 8 p.m.)

 

The Frosty Fox will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 17 to Feb. 19.

MacIsland Café will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 17 to Feb. 19.

Mac’s Snack Shack at CNRL Arena 1 will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 17 to Feb. 19.

The Anzac Recreation Centre will be open as regular with the following exceptions:

  • Field House closed Feb. 16 to Feb. Feb. 19
  • Arena closed from 4 p.m. Feb. 16 to Feb. 19
  • Fitness Studio Room and the ConocoPhillips Youth Room closed Feb. 17 to 1 p.m. Feb. 19

Nearly 3000 athletes, coaches and officials will compete in 22 sporting events from Feb. 16 to 19 as a part of the Alberta Winter Games.
