Daytime load restrictions for winter road and trails

With warmer weather on the horizon, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has reduced the load limits on the Fort Chipewyan Winter Road, the La Loche and Lac La Biche winter trails.

Effective Monday March 12, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. the load limit for the Fort Chipewyan Winter Road will be reduced to 40,000 kg.

The load limit will return to 45,000 kg from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m.

Starting on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. the load limit on both, the La Loche Winter Trail and Lac La Biche Winter Trail, will be reduced to 22,500 kg.

The load limit on the La Loche Winter Trail will return to 27,500 kg and will be unrestricted on the Lac La Biche Winter Trail from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m.

You’re reminded to obey all postage signage on the winter road and trails and that there are no regular services like road patrol, gas stations or cell phone coverage.
