NLHF receives $60K for surgical suite upgrades

Northern Lights Health Foundation

The Northern Lights Health Foundation (NLHF) received a pledge of $60,000 to go towards the Minimally Invasive Surgical Suite (MIS) Project.

The project will provide significant improvement to patient recovery times and outcomes, including quicker recovery and fewer complications.

Surgeons will also have more control over the space, quicker procedure and turnover times, the ability to consult and train other physicians and increased safety.

Melanie Antoine, co-owner of A.P.E. Maintenance said it’s important to have this type of advanced health care technology close to home.

“We all utilize and need good health care close to home so contributing to the campaign only makes sense.”

Antoine said at the NAABA Business Showcase on Mar. 15, that this donation is one of the largest they’ve ever made.

Executive Director of the NLHF Cindy Amerongen said the state of the art upgrade will also help the Health Centre recruit new surgeons.

The donation was made in support of NLHF’s Gratitude Campaign which funds several projects to improve health and promote wellness in the region.
