Fort McMurray man charged for importing cocaine

A Fort McMurray man has been charged in relation to the largest narcotics seizureĀ at the Carway, Alberta border crossing southwest of Lethbridge.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and RCMP searched the vehicle of Bradley Michael Gaudrault, 26, as he was returning to the province on Mar. 17.

While searching the vehicle officers found 31 bricks of suspected cocaine, weighing 31 kg.

RCMP charged Gaudrault on Mar. 19 with Importation of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Gaudrault is expected to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court on Mar. 22.
