Residents who are still finding themselves facing challenges from the 2016 wildfire can attend a special Here for You Session.
The session will include representatives from the Canadian Red Cross and Insurance Bureau of Canada.
The Community Legal Clinic – Fort McMurray will also offer a limited number of free 30-minute legal support appointments.
Lawyers will be available to interpret policies, review Statements of Claim and/or Proof of Loss, notarize documents and give advice.
Legal support is available by appointment only by calling 587-674-2282 by Mar. 29. All relevant documentation is required at the appointment.
Anyone with questions about recovery-related supports available or who want to learn more about the upcoming insurance deadline, dispute resolution of other insurance-related issued are encouraged to attend the session.
You’re also encouraged to contact your insurance immediately if you have not yet completely your insurance claim.
The Here for You Session is on Apr. 4 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Shell Place.
