Horton CBI Ltd. charged in relation to death of employee

Horton CBI Ltd. has been charged under the Occupational Health and Safety Act in relation to the death of an employee on their construction site in Fort McMurray.

According to OHS, on March 21, 2016 Jamie Paris was welding a large bitumen storage tank when he fell from scaffolding about 60 feet to the ground.

The company is facing 10 different charges including failure to ensure the health and safety of a worker.

MyMcMurray reached out to Horton CBI Ltd. for comment but did not receive a response in time of publication.

Horton CBI Ltd. will be in court on May 9.
