'Wanted' Whitecourt man arrested in Wood Buffalo

A man from Whitecourt has been arrested after the Wood Buffalo RCMP saw a pick-up truck with a severely damaged windshield.

Early Thursday morning officers noticed a pick-up truck pulled over in a rest stop 15 kilometres south of town with a damaged windshield, the officer found a man and a woman sleeping in the truck.

Mason Roy Anderson, 30, from Edmonton was arrested on an outstanding warrant for theft under $5000 and failure to comply.

The RCMP deemed the vehicle unsafe to travel on the roadway and towed it to a local repair shop to be fixed.

The woman in the vehicle was the registered owner and had to return to the RCMP detachment to prove the windshield had been replaced.
