The Hub's June Bug Family Festival returns June 1

The Hub Family Resource Centre is vamping up this year’s June Bug Family Festival. This year’s festival will take place at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre from June 1 till 3 and will focus on including all members of the family.

Cordella Welshman told MyMcMurray they are excited to make the event more inclusive.

“We’ll have our different departments set up, our parent coach, prenatal, family access and family support,” said Welsman.

She also noted that many other community partners will be attending and showcasing their organizations.

The ninth annual festival will open with the traditional Milk and Cookies Children’s Gala where parents are invited to have their children dress in their finest and walk the red carpet followed by a dance party.

The festival days will run on the Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. til four p.m. and will include local entertainment, face painting, treats and games.

“We want families to get out, enjoy each other and have loads of fun.”

The June Bug Festival is the largest fundraising for The Hub, which offers free programming and resources to families in the community.
