Layla Isaac Foundation to host free 'get outside and play' day

The Layla Isaac Foundation is supporting a project of the Alberta Council for Environmental Education (ACEE) by hosting a free event as a part of a week long, provincial celebration of outdoor play.

Get outside and play week is being recognized from May 26 – June 3 and The Layla Isaac Foundation will celebrate on Sunday, May 27 from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. on the grounds of the Oil Sands Discovery Centre.

Beverley Makia, Managing Director of the Layla Isaac Foundation detailed the importance of playing outdoors in a press release .

“Outdoor play is a key ingredient for a healthy and productive life. Getting children to play and engage with their natural environment has profound benefits such as increased creativity, increased physical health and improved interaction with their peers. Get Outside & Play Week is all about encouraging parents, caregivers and kids to explore their natural environment through play.”

Free tickets for The Layla Isaac Get Outside and Play Festival can be found online along with information about outdoor games and actives.
