Two arrested for drug possession after traffic stop

Two Edmonton men are facing drug related charges after a traffic stop in Timberlea.

According to the Wood Buffalo RCMP on May 20th an officer noticed a vehicle that failed to stay in the centre of the lane, the vehicle was pulled over out of concern for public safety.

During the stop, the officer found 29 grams of suspected cocaine wrapped in individual baggies, along with over $1000 cash and several cell phones.

The driver was identified as Syed Shah and the passenger, who provided false identification, was later identified as Richard Angelo.

Both men who are 19, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

Angelo is facing two additional charges of obstruction and identity fraud.

They have been released on recognizance and will make a court appearance on June 26.
