RRC looking for third round of feedback on proposed Northside Rec Centre

The city wants even more feedback regarding it’s proposed Northside Rec Centre to go in Abrams Land across from Dickinsfield.

The Regional Recreation Corporation is planning its third round of engagement sessions that start this Wednesday and end next Thursday at MacDonald Island and the Casman Centre.

The RRC says it saw close to 5,500 survey responses from last year’s 2 engagement sessions and online surveys which have been used to help plan the centre.

It says it’s heading towards a recommendation that’s grounded around community collaboration.

The corporation says the latest survey showed the most popular thing to have in the new centre is an Aquatics Centre, which 43% of people wanted.

A movie theatre was second, at 41%, a fitness centre third at 32%, arena space fourth at 27% and bowling at 26%.

The dates, times and locations for the upcoming in-person sessions are as follows:

–> Wednesday, April 9: 6:00-8:00 pm Miskanaw North Ballroom, Suncor Community Leisure Centre
–> Saturday, April 12: 2:00-4:00 pm Miskanaw South Ballroom, Suncor Community Leisure Centre
