The amount of advance voters dropped 22% from 2011’s federal election to this year’s by-election.
Elections Canada closed the polls yesterday and says it saw 2,659 voters in the Fort McMurray-Athabasca riding.
Macleod, Alberta is also voting for an MP and it saw a 55% drop to 3,087 people.
There were 16,740 votes in the four ridings electing a new MP, the two in Alberta as well as Scarborough-Agincourt and Trinity-Spadina in Toronto.
Election day is Monday.
