AHS says 38 children injured on ATVs during three months

Health officials are reminding people to be careful on all-terrain vehicles this long weekend.

Alberta Health Services is particularly concerned about children who have not developed the strength, skills, or judgment to operate ATVs.

Between May 1 and July 26, 38 children in the province have been injured on the machines. Two of the kids ended up dying of their injuries.

AHS says children should wear helmets, even though the province doesn’t have a law that requires kids to wear them.
