Alberta Min. Evans pushing oilsands in Indiana

Alberta’s International and Intergovernmental Affairs Minister says she’s making good progress at a meeting of U.S. state governments in Indiana.

Iris Evans is attending the Council of State Governments Midwest conference and is pushing Alberta as a secure and responsible energy partner — something she says the states are responding well to.

However, she says she’s hearing tougher news when it comes to the proposed Keystone XL pipeline.

The pipeline expansion still needs American approval.

Eighty six percent of imported oil in the midwest comes from Western Canada.

This is the second year that Alberta has participated in the conference
