Several people have been evacuated from an apartment building in Timberlea after a major fire broke out.
Witnesses report having heard loud explosions before the fire spread near midnight on Sunday night.
However, there have been no reports of any injuries as a result of the fire.
The reported explosion was at the Parsons Landing building across from Ecole McTavish beside 302 Parsons Creek Drive.
Evacuees are being sheltered at nearby Ecole McTavish as fire crews respond.
Since Ecole McTavish is being used by evacuees from the blaze, the school is closed to students for Monday. Teachers are still required to report to the school.
