Athabasca Oil says Fort McKay First Nation no longer fighting Dover project

Athabasca Oil has announced the Fort McKay First Nation is dropping its objections to the proposed Dover project.

The band had won the right to challenge the project, after arguing that not being allowed to testify violated its Constitutional rights.

The Dover project has been full of controversy, because it would infringe on historic native grounds.

The project would produce 250,000 barrels a day and is a joing venture with Athabasca and Phoenix Energy Holdings.
