The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have pulled the trigger on a major acquisition.
G.M. Gord Thibodeau has acquired the rights to former Calgary Hitmen forward Danny Gayle from the Lloydminster Bobcats, in exchange for local forward Jessey Touchette.
The 1992-born Gayle was released by Calgary, and is coming off a 39-point season in the WHL.
The team also dealt 1993-born defenceman Leighton McLachlan to the Drumheller Dragons.
Thibodeau also acquired 1993-born D Taylor Graham from the Whitecourt Wolverines.
Graham could be in tomorrow night’s lineup, but Gayle will not be.
